One man,
one suitcase,
a whole lot of sound.
Austin Gray moves between electric dreams and acoustic whispers, keeping time on a suitcase drum and telling tales from roads less traveled.

The suitcase drum
A sweet fusion of Country and Americana — one guitar, one voice, and a suitcase keeping the beat.
Now based in Nashville, Austin began developing his style on the guitar at twelve, when he met the man who would kindle his love for performing. Jody Payne had just retired from 36 years as Willie Nelson’s lead guitarist and became fascinated with the skinny youngster — telling others he “reminds me of me.”
Years after Jody’s passing, another Nashville legend took interest. Songwriter Jimmy Yeary — a CMA and ACM Song of the Year winner — began mentoring Austin across every aspect of his career. The two now perform corporate events together, speaking, playing, and singing about the purpose and power of mentoring.
Austin has become one of a handful of artists audiences listen to intently, weaving original material into a sound all his own.
